The Potato Hijack

Posted by Rachel S. on Saturday, October 2, 2010, In : Crazy
(I just found this story in my archives. It was written while Crazy and I were still roommates, during the period after Crazy discovered my blog. I didn't post it at the time because I didn't want to exacerbate the situation. However, it is too funny not to share. So, here you go.)

A while back, I bought a few sweet potatoes from the grocery store downstairs. I baked one with a little butter... delicious! I did the same with the second, and was preparing to do the same with the last one when m...

Happy Anniversary!

Posted by Rachel S. on Monday, September 27, 2010, In : Crazy

One week ago today, Crazy moved out of the apartment- and out of my life! This has been my happiest, most productive week in the city since my move. I reorganized the apartment, rewrote my resume, got a casting director gig, went to the dance studio, 2 yoga classes, 3 jogs, 2 trips to the gym, and managed to keep a busy social life as well. Phew! I'm exhausted just writing about it!

Although this week has been amazing, my blogging material is extremely dry without Crazy stories. Luckily, I ca...

Good Riddance!

Posted by Rachel S. on Monday, September 20, 2010, In : Crazy

After an exhausting day of beer and football, I came back to my apartment and nearly exploded with happiness when I saw that every last speck of Crazy's belongings were finally gone! I literally danced around the apartment and could not contain my huge, goofy grin. I had to share my excitement. So, I called Cool Guy. I wished he were there so I could hug the crap out him! Woo hoo!

Although I knew that she would be coming on Sunday to collect the last of her things, I never really thought that ...

Au Revoir, Aspen!

Posted by Rachel Scott on Sunday, September 19, 2010, In : Crazy

I woke up to the most gorgeous, early fall morning in Aspen. The colors were magnificent; the green leaves had just started turning bright yellow and orange. The days were warm, nights cool. This morning was a particularly glorious morning because it was Saturday, which meant it was the day of the Farmer's Market! I strolled along three blocks of local produce and merchandise, looking for the perfect peach. I found it, handed the vendor $1 and bit through the soft, fuzzy flesh as the juice gu...

Crazy Is A Herpe

Posted by Rachel Scott on Sunday, September 5, 2010, In : Crazy

Crazy is a herpe: an annoying disease that won't go away. As you may recall, Cool Guy and I kicked Crazy out of our 3-bedroom apartment after the Battery In Battery Park incident. We told her that we did not feel safe with her living in the apartment. She complied for two days-- the best two days I had had since moving into the apartment! Unfortunately, she came back and refused to move. Every day thereafter was extremely uncomfortable. I put my mattress on the floor in Cool Guy's room and sl...

Skydiving and Restraining Orders... Just another CRAZY Day! (Part III)

Posted by Rachel Scott on Monday, August 30, 2010, In : Crazy

(continued from Part II)... As Crazy was hauled off to jail, Cool Guy and I headed to the hospital to have his cuts treated. We greeted the staff who we had met just weeks ago (after the Battery at Battery Park incident). The staff was surprised at the similar nature of our visit. "Again?! That girl is still living with you?!"

After the Doctor pulled glass out of Cool Guy's foot, and treated his cuts, we walked to the First Precinct to get an update and to file a restraining order against Cra...

Skydiving and Restraining Orders... Just Another CRAZY Day (Part II)

Posted by Rachel Scott on Monday, August 30, 2010, In : Crazy

(continued from Part I)... I escorted the two female officers to the apartment that I share with "Cool Guy" and "Crazy". Cool Guy limped to the door with a bloody foot, while Crazy ran into her room-- as she always does when the police come. Shortly, three more officers arrived. After much resistance, they finally got Crazy to come out of her room, and asked for her version of events. She spoke to them in her native language of Crazytalk. The conversation went something like this:

Officer:  Wh...

Skydiving and Restraining Orders... Just Another CRAZY Day! (Part I)

Posted by Rachel Scott on Monday, August 30, 2010, In : Crazy
I promised myself that I would not write anymore blogs pertaining to my roommate, "Crazy", and the never-ending drama that she radiates. Because she discovered my blog, I thought it would be wise to cease writing about her in order to maintain a civil living situation. However, things have recently changed. Here's what happened:

I had just returned from an extremely long day of activity, including early morning skydiving. I was eager to return home and be productive--I had a lot of things that...

Crazy Alert! Crazy Alert!

Posted by Rachel Scott on Sunday, August 29, 2010, In : Crazy
Crazy is in jail! Holy crap, she is a complete psycho! As you know, I've abstained from blogging about her since she discovered this blog. But after tonight's mania, I've decided that my silence is over! I owe it to my fans to fill you in on the ridiculous events of the past couple weeks-- especially tonight! I have soooo much catching up to do. But, I'm exhausted and will have to wait until tomorrow, so check back soon. Definitely stay tuned...

Dear Crazy,

Posted by Rachel Scott on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, In : Crazy

Okay, so the meeting didn't go as planned. There are definitely a few bumps in the road to operation: Evict Crazy. Also, I've heard that my good friend, Crazy, has somehow discovered my blog. Oops! I shouldn't be surprised since many of my fans are actually people who know her. Well I hope she enjoys reading my blogs as much as I enjoy writing them!

There has been so much more drama that I wish I could share. However, I think it would be wise to wait until some issues get resolved, given that ...

The Crazy Saga Continues...

Posted by Rachel Scott on Monday, August 9, 2010, In : Crazy

It just never ends with this girl! Crazy is at it again; she has been contacting me and Cool Guy in a pathetic attempt to get back into the apartment. Un-be-lievable! She is so delusional, it's sad. She wrote an e-mail to building management stating that she has lived in the apartment "for quite sometime(sic) and there has never been any issues." ...Ummm, really?! If you're familiar with my blogsite, you are well aware of Crazy's multiple indiscretions--including drug binges, giving her drug-...

Battery in Battery Park

Posted by Rachel Scott on Saturday, August 7, 2010, In : Crazy

I don't even know where to begin! I suppose I will start with when I woke up-- or was awaken, rather.

At approximately 5am, I sprung out of bed when I heard the crashing of pots and pans, yelling, and commotion. I opened my bedroom door to find Crazy screaming and trying to break up a full-blown brawl between her loser-thug-drugdealer-boyfriend and two guys I had never seen before. There was blood everywhere, and one of the guys had a bloody mouth and skull. I screamed for them to stop and ge...

Crazy Has Saggy Boobs

Posted by Rachel Scott on Friday, August 6, 2010, In : Crazy

After this morning's toilet incident (read "Pissed" Off), I went to my job interview. Apparently, it went well because I was invited back for a second interview. Yay! I came home, and not even five minutes later someone else came home. I wasn't sure who it was because the person didn't greet me. I went about my business and later decided to see who was home. I was shocked to find Crazy's loser boyfriend in the kitchen, cooking food. He saw me, but said nothing.

Minutes later, one of his frien...

"Pissed" Off!

Posted by Rachel Scott on Thursday, August 5, 2010, In : Crazy

Yesterday was nice. I met up with some of my favorite people from Colorado. We went to breakfast, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island. Then, I bought a bottle of wine and a cheese platter to bring to the rooftop and enjoy with some neighbors. Crazy and her cute pooch even came up for a few minutes, and all was good. No fighting or pissing me off-- except for the fact that Crazy is an inconsiderate skank, in general. The fact that I hardly saw Crazy explains the reason for my good day. I a...

The Bitch is Back

Posted by Rachel Scott on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, In : Crazy
I just got back to NYC after an amazing week in Aspen! I saw my friends, went on gorgeous hikes, and hit the town! I danced in a flashmob video for youtube. I also worked for two former employers, both offering me work if I choose to return. I feel so lucky to have so many friends and opportunities waiting for me there. Overall, my week was incredible!

It kind of sucks to be back in The City. I'm stuck with Crazy again! From the second I got home, she annoyed me (as usual). She surprised me w...

Sunday Funday

Posted by Rachel Scott on Monday, July 26, 2010, In : Crazy

Yesterday, I made blueberry pancakes (my specialty) for my roommate, Cool Guy. I cleaned the kitchen and put the dishes in the sink just before my friend arrived to take me to Jones Beach. I really needed to get out of the apartment for the day! After laughing at guys with hairy backs and taking a long nap on the beach, I felt great! Unfortunately, my euphoria was short-lived.

When I got home, Crazy called me a "hypocrite" for telling her to clean up after herself when I left a "mess." I roll...

Crazy Needs Rehab

Posted by Rachel Scott on Saturday, July 24, 2010, In : Crazy

This blog is a follow-up to my previous (Never A Dull Moment). After my crazy night, I got home at 7am to find my roommate, Crazy, awake in her room. I told her my story, and she told me a better one: She had just gotten home from the hospital after suffering her first seizure. This followed a 2-3 day sleep-deprived drug binge. She told me that she was released only after threatening to sue the hospital if they didn't release her. So what does she do?: Invites me to come with her to a Def Jam...

Compromising with Crazy

Posted by Rachel Scott on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, In : Crazy
I got into another fight with Crazy tonight. This time it was about living room furniture. Seems dumb, right? I totally agree!

I actually managed to avoid contact with her for the majority of the day. I saw her briefly this morning. She hadn't slept because she was still on a coke high and informed me that two of her "friends" were over. I had seen one of them a couple times. But the other guy was new. In any case, I left immediately to dance away my stress with contemporary jazz/modern and b...

Sh*t Hit the Fan in Crazytown

Posted by Rachel Scott on Sunday, July 18, 2010, In : Crazy
It finally happened: the blowout between me and Crazy. Screaming, in-your-face battle of the century... okay maybe not THAT big. But, It's only been two weeks since we became roommates; I don't think I'll make it two months with this lunatic.

The night before our blowout, I came home with my sane roommate, Cool Guy, after a nice night of delicious halal cart dining. We found Crazy in a stoned and drunken state with yet another new male guest. I struck up a conversation with him as Cool Guy di...

"Crazy" is driving me Crazy!

Posted by Rachel Scott on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, In : Crazy
Just when I was starting to like tolerate Crazy, she's started to piss me off again. She's like a child: selfish and stupid. First of all, I'm the only one who has bought cleaning supplies for the apartment. And, I seem to be the only one who uses them. Yesterday, I cleaned the kitchen quite thoroughly and 2 minutes later, she made a mess.

While quite annoying, that relatively minor incident isn't really why I'm mad. There are many other reasons-- such as all of her crap in the common living ...

Crazy is Insane!

Posted by Rachel Scott on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, In : Crazy

Crazy belongs in a high-security psych ward! Yesterday, I thought she was acting almost normal. I even thought that maybe I was the one being melodramatic and too judgmental... until about 4:15am, when I was jolted out of my slumber by her loud-ass, annoying voice. She was not alone, of course. In fact, she managed to one-up herself and brought a new-even-more-crazy-thug drug-dealer into our apartment. I politely asked them, "Keep it down please. It's after 4am." Thug replied, "You wana smoke...

Fireworks in Crazytown

Posted by Rachel Scott on Monday, July 5, 2010, In : Crazy

Yesterday was Independence Day. Last night, I watched six different fireworks displays from my rooftop. It was great! Nearly everyone from the building was there--including some extremely attractive male tenants. ;) Love my new building! Anyway, my friend and I bought a 6-pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade to sip on while we watched the spectacle. I had one and my friend had two. So, I put the three remaining bottles in my refrigerator to save for the next time we wanted to chill on the roofdeck. W...

Crazy Meets My Friends

Posted by Rachel Scott on Monday, July 5, 2010, In : Crazy
Yesterday, I made the mistake of inviting my new roommate, Crazy, out with me and my friends. We were supposed to meet them at 11pm. However, Crazy took two hours to get ready. While she was getting ready, her cute little dog was whimpering to be let out. She kept saying, "Just a minute, Baby! Momma's doing her thing." An hour later, and with increasingly louder whimpers by the pooch, she asked our super sweet--yet super sick--roommate to take out her dog so she could finish getting ready. So...

Meet "Crazy"

Posted by Rachel Scott on Monday, July 5, 2010, In : Crazy
My new roommate is a freaking lunatic! I met her not even three days ago and I already can't stand her. She's already invited drug dealers into the apartment on at least three separate occasions. How do I know? A: She told me. And B: They've offered me drugs. Awesome! (Insert sarcasm here.) Now I'm no Miss Innocent and am not even opposed to medical marijuana. However, I am not a fan of having sketchy-ass drug dealers constantly coming in and out of my apartment. I am especially not a fan of ...

About Me

Rachel Scott Originally from Chicago, I migrated to Boulder,CO in 1997. I've been in Colorado ever since- leaving only when contracted for work by Club Med Resorts. I had contracts in Mexico, Saint Lucia, Turks and Caicos, and Florida. But after a long-time of being over-worked and under-appreciated as a choreographer, I quit and moved to Miami. After nearly a year of living in America's butthole, I went on an emergency vacation to Aspen, CO for X-games in 2006, and never left... until now. Goodbye quaint little mountain town; Hello concrete jungle!
