Life
After a six month hiatus, a friend has convinced me to reinstate my blogs with a few drunken words of encouragement. I don't know whether I should be flattered or offended by her laughter about my life chronicles. But I figure, if you can't laugh at yourself... I don't know how to finish this sentence but anyway... Not much has changed over these last six months; I'm still single, though I have had several new inadequate suitors. I've also dealt with more interesting NYC living situations. To... After Douchebag McDouche stole my security deposit and refused to let me move into the apartment that I paid for, I became homeless. I moped aimlessly around the streets of New York City, wondering if anyone could tell that I was one of "them". Since I was still able to shower and wear designer sunglasses, I'm sure that no one suspected.
I actually felt somewhat bad (but not really) when one unsuspecting college student targeted me to lecture about sponsoring a child in Fuckifiknowland. "It's ... Continue reading ...

Life
After weeks of hiatus, I've decided to come out of hiding. I unpublished my blog because some douchebag scammed me for a chunk of my net worth and now I'm suing him. I've been busy playing detective and looking for a cardboard box to make my home. However, I've missed making fun of myself, bad dates, and crazy people. So, I'm back. Plus, I must tell you about this huge douche bag and my subsequent homelessness as a result of his douchieness. Hopefully my sob story will inspire you to donate t... Continue reading ...

Since Crazy moved out of the apartment that I share with Cool Guy, life has been grand! I feel much more relaxed, productive, and have more fun! Unfortunately, the lease ends in 15 days. Luckily, I already put a deposit on another apartment located in East Village. It is across the street from my favorite yoga studio, karoake bars, great restaurants, one of my favorite sports pubs, spas, and good shopping. And the rent was very low for the area. Score! Yesterday, I received a message stating ... Continue reading ...

Life
Last night, I ventured to my favorite dance studio for a much-needed dance class. Unfortunately, the studio is near Times Square-- which always seems to be infested with thousands of annoying tourists. Even though I was early for my class, I felt like I had to plow quickly through the streets to get away from the herd of fanny-packers who take up the entire sidewalk buying fake Justin Beiber photos and 'I heart NY' t-shirts from sidewalk vendors. When I reached my destination, I learned that ... Continue reading ...

I'm friggin exhausted! I taught a boy's hip hop dance class today with 20 devil children. I love to dance! But teaching a group of sugared-up, ADD cases can be challenging at times. And today was one of those days. Man! Those kids wiped me out! I'm barely conscious right now. Anyway, I had another day of turmoil. Aspen or New York? Aspen or New York? Aspen or New York? I finally just realized why I wanted to leave Aspen in the first place. I got depressed when: 1. I quit my job and wasn't mak... Continue reading ...

Life
I'm at a crossroad. I can do one of two things at the end of this month: stay in NYC or move back to Aspen. The deciding factor is work, of course. I had a couple of promising job interviews and even did a "trial" in the Hamptons this weekend. If I land one of these good-paying jobs, I will stay in New York and rake in the dough. Otherwise, I have work and friends awaiting in Aspen!
Good things about NYC: amazing dance and yoga classes, grad school is an option, money-making potential, karoak... Continue reading ...

I haven't really worked in about a year. Yes, I've made money. But I didn't work hard for it. I had saved enough money over the past few years to buy a car outright, start a business, and take several vacations- including Hawaii, California, Vegas, Chicago, a month in Europe, and several trips between Aspen and NYC. Unfortunately, I'm at the point where I need to find a full-time job again. :( I sent my resumes to some dance studios in NYC and interviewed at an employment agency. The employmen... About Me
| Rachel Scott |
| New York, New York |
Originally from Chicago, I migrated to Boulder,CO in 1997. I've been in Colorado ever since- leaving only when contracted for work by Club Med Resorts. I had contracts in Mexico, Saint Lucia, Turks and Caicos, and Florida. But after a long-time of being over-worked and under-appreciated as a choreographer, I quit and moved to Miami.
After nearly a year of living in America's butthole, I went on an emergency vacation to Aspen, CO for X-games in 2006, and never left... until now. Goodbye quaint little mountain town; Hello concrete jungle!
