Crazy Meets My Friends

Under: Crazy
Yesterday, I made the mistake of inviting my new roommate, Crazy, out with me and my friends. We were supposed to meet them at 11pm. However, Crazy took two hours to get ready. While she was getting ready, her cute little dog was whimpering to be let out. She kept saying, "Just a minute, Baby! Momma's doing her thing." An hour later, and with increasingly louder whimpers by the pooch, she asked our super sweet--yet super sick--roommate to take out her dog so she could finish getting ready. So, my kind-yet-sick, super sweet roommate took the pooch out. Later, she explained that she couldn't take him out because she had spray-tanned her legs and hadn't yet applied bronzer to her upper body and face. God forbid anyone see a half-tanned ginger roaming the streets of NYC!
After neglecting her pooch and keeping my friends waiting for two hours, Crazy was finally ready to go out. However, she decided that she didn't want to go where we had planned because it sounded like a "dive bar" and she wouldn't step into an establishment of that nature looking as good as she did. She told me to have my friends meet us at a different location. However, I had already told them that we would meet them where they were, and we would all go together to the next place. Well, this didn't go over so well with Crazy. She insisted upon speaking to my friend, and ripped the phone away from me when he called. Then, she took his number and began texting and calling him--essentially taking over as the decision-maker for the evening. By the way, she had never even met my friends at this point.
Finally, we all met up to the place of her liking and she continued to be loud, overbearing, bossy, and monopolizing every conversation. On one occassion, I realized that an attractive new acquaintance lived in the same area as us. He asked which building I lived in. I told him and he indicated that he was in the building just accross the street! "Cool! I have a hot neighbor," I thought. Later, Crazy scolded me, "NEVER tell a guy what building you live in!" While normally I would say this is good advice, our building has over 500 units, a doorman/security, and an elevator code. And, he only knew my first name. Moreover, this is coming from the woman who has invited three different drug dealers inside our apartment within days of moving in. She's obviously a great judge of character.
There were many incidences of interrupting, shouting, innappropriate comments, etc. I was so embarrassed by her abrasive nature and rude behavior that I texted my friends apologies throughout the evening. Although I had previously warned them, "She's hot, but crazy," one of my friends made a great point and accurate observation: "She's not THAT hot!"
