Crossroads
I'm at a crossroad. I can do one of two things at the end of this month: stay in NYC or move back to Aspen. The deciding factor is work, of course. I had a couple of promising job interviews and even did a "trial" in the Hamptons this weekend. If I land one of these good-paying jobs, I will stay in New York and rake in the dough. Otherwise, I have work and friends awaiting in Aspen!
Good things about NYC: amazing dance and yoga classes, grad school is an option, money-making potential, karoake bars, hookah lounges, arts & culture, always something to do, men with ambition and manners, free entertainment in the subways.
Bad things about NYC: smelly, noisy, lots of weirdos, apartments are small and expensive, men are arrogant, women are bitches, and city life is making me fat.
Good things about Aspen: absolutely gorgeous, good friends, lifestyle (skiing/snowboarding, hiking, etc.), established reputation in town, down-to-earth people.
Bad things about Aspen: boring off-seasons, less opportunity for career growth, and all the men have Peter Pan Syndrome; they never grow up.
Needless to say, the start of my experience as a New Yorker has NOT been easy. However, I have learned a lot in my short time here. I learned that I like to write blogs. (Maybe I'll get a writing job out of my new hobby!) Through this blog, I also learned that I like to make fun of people-- a lot. Maybe I really am a rude New Yorker after all!
