I think I'm cursed. Have you ever seen the movie with Dane Cook, where every girl he hooks up with marries the next guy she meets? Well, I'm Dane Cook. It all started with my college boyfriend. After dating for a few years, I broke up with him when I transferred to a university in another state. He ended up marrying the rebound girl. Since then, I've dated a multitude of useless men. There have been a few that I genuinely liked, but those guys ultimately rejected me and subsequently started serious relationships with someone else within a year. For example: - A couple years ago, I had a brief relationship with a super cute guy who is still with the girl he started dating within weeks of our split.
- Just the other day, I learned on Facebook that one of my former flames recently knocked-up and subsequently married a girl he started dating after dumping me and moving to another state.
- A few days ago, I saw an almost boyfriend walking down the street, holding hands with a girl that I know through mutual friends. It wouldn't have been a big deal if she weren't a total butterface with the personality of Cookie Monster.
- I recently learned that my least favorite ex is engaged to a stripper! That actually doesn't bother me 'cuz he was such a disaster! Actually, I feel bad for his fiancee (future ex-wife may be a more appropriate title). The jerk still calls me actually! (I never respond.) Honestly, I'd rather be single for all of eternity than be in her shoes.
I explained this curse to someone, who offered two theories: Either I'm such a disaster that I've lowered the bar for the guys that I date which leads them to be easily impressed with the women they meet after me. Or, I'm so fabulous that these guys kick themselves in the butt for letting me get away, and don't want to repeat the same mistake of losing a good thing. ...I choose to believe the latter theory.

After a week or so of Blackberry instant messaging, I met POF #9 at a local pub on the Upper East Side to watch Monday Night Football. We drank a beer as we chatted about the game, roommates, work, prior POF dates and other light subjects that are normally discussed between two people that have just met. He was friendly, funny, and HUGE-- 6'4" and at least 250lbs. He wasn't fat- just BIG! He was kind of cute actually. He was clean-cut, had short blond hair, blue eyes, nice smile, good teeth a... Although I never actually met Desperado, he consumed enough of my time and energy to merit a blog. I can't really consider him a date since we never met, so I'm only giving him a 1/2 number. It began innocent enough, a few short messages via the POF website. We exchanged e-mails and arranged to meet at his alma mater, Columbia University. He offered to give me a campus tour, which seemed like fun since I'd never been. Although I had to cancel our initial date, we rescheduled for the following ... Continue reading...

After Douchebag McDouche stole my security deposit and refused to let me move into the apartment that I paid for, I became homeless. I moped aimlessly around the streets of New York City, wondering if anyone could tell that I was one of "them". Since I was still able to shower and wear designer sunglasses, I'm sure that no one suspected.
I actually felt somewhat bad (but not really) when one unsuspecting college student targeted me to lecture about sponsoring a child in Fuckifiknowland. "It's ... Continue reading...

I've always considered myself to be feminine. I wear dresses, lipgloss, and high heels. I flirt with boys, show off my curves and walk with my hips. I'm a total babe! ...at least I thought so until last night. I was hanging out with my friend Sweet P, when she shared a story about her one and only lesbian kiss that she shared with her sorority sister during college. My straight friend (who oddly joined a lesbian sorority at her university) clarified that if she were gay, she would prefer to b... Continue reading...

After a series of disappointments in NYC, I've decided to travel and get some clarity. First stop: LA! My long-time friend picked me up at LAX and welcomed me to the City of Angels. Though I hadn't slept more than three hours, my friend already had the whole day planned! First, we did a little shopping. Actually, she did some shopping while my broke-ass watched. Next, we went to Venice Beach to people-watch. The scent of marijuana permeated the promenade as homeless-looking people held up sig... Continue reading...

After weeks of hiatus, I've decided to come out of hiding. I unpublished my blog because some douchebag scammed me for a chunk of my net worth and now I'm suing him. I've been busy playing detective and looking for a cardboard box to make my home. However, I've missed making fun of myself, bad dates, and crazy people. So, I'm back. Plus, I must tell you about this huge douche bag and my subsequent homelessness as a result of his douchieness. Hopefully my sob story will inspire you to donate t... Continue reading...

Last night, I couldn't sleep and was awake until after 4am. Nonetheless, I woke up this morning around 9am, slammed a double espresso, cranked out a grad school application, sold some furniture, went to a dance class, helped with a film casting, and squeezed in a late dinner with POF #8. Although I had planned on going home to freshen up before my date, I was already three hours behind schedule and too exhausted to make a fuss. Plus, we both happened to be in the same part of town. Despite th... Continue reading...

I've come to the point that I don't care about what I look like when I go on a blind date because chances are, my date will be a 3 (on a scale of 1-10). So on my most recent date, I did not brush my teeth, and wore comfy flat boots that did not match my dress at all.
In addition to minimal effort in appearance, I am also beginning to realize that I can say anything I want about myself, as long as I mention that I am a dancer. The dance factor seems to negate everything else, including smelly ... Continue reading...

Since Crazy moved out of the apartment that I share with Cool Guy, life has been grand! I feel much more relaxed, productive, and have more fun! Unfortunately, the lease ends in 15 days. Luckily, I already put a deposit on another apartment located in East Village. It is across the street from my favorite yoga studio, karoake bars, great restaurants, one of my favorite sports pubs, spas, and good shopping. And the rent was very low for the area. Score! Yesterday, I received a message stating ... Continue reading...

About Me
| Rachel Scott |
| New York, New York |
Originally from Chicago, I migrated to Boulder,CO in 1997. I've been in Colorado ever since- leaving only when contracted for work by Club Med Resorts. I had contracts in Mexico, Saint Lucia, Turks and Caicos, and Florida. But after a long-time of being over-worked and under-appreciated as a choreographer, I quit and moved to Miami.
After nearly a year of living in America's butthole, I went on an emergency vacation to Aspen, CO for X-games in 2006, and never left... until now. Goodbye quaint little mountain town; Hello concrete jungle!
