The Bitch is Back
August 3, 2010
I just got back to NYC after an amazing week in Aspen! I saw my friends, went on gorgeous hikes, and hit the town! I danced in a flashmob video for youtube. I also worked for two former employers, both offering me work if I choose to return. I feel so lucky to have so many friends and opportunities waiting for me there. Overall, my week was incredible!
It kind of sucks to be back in The City. I'm stuck with Crazy again! From the second I got home, she annoyed me (as usual). She surprised me when I walked into the apartment to find her in my room. Despite the fact that I told her that nobody was allowed to stay in my room while I was gone, she told me that she slept there because she had gotten into a fight with her loser boyfriend. She told me that she was tripping on mushrooms at the time too. So basically she was on drugs and partied in my room. Anyway, I asked her why she didn't just kick the jerk out?! She replied that she thought that he didn't have a place to stay... Great! A homeless drug-dealer has access to my apartment!
Aggravated and hungry, I went to the kitchen to make some dinner. The kitchen was a disaster. I cleaned it thoroughly before I left for Aspen, and even made a joke about it before I left. "It's spotless now, but we'll see what it looks like when I get back," I said in jest. She claimed that she is clean and that the kitchen would look just as good upon my return. "We'll see," I responded. I wasn't surprised when I came home, and it was disgusting. However, I was surprised when I opened the microwave and it looked like a pasta sauce bomb had exploded. I just can't believe what a f-ing slob she is!
Eager to get out of this madhouse, I made plans to meet my neighbor on the rooftop. "Neighbor" is moving out of her apartment, which means that I can move in! Neighbor showed me the space. I was not impressed with the tiny apartment. However, her roommate often travels for work, so I would pretty much have the whole place to myself! And it's only a short-term sublet anyway. At least it's an option. I also pondered kicking out Crazy, and letting Neighbor take her room. I showed Neighbor my apartment and she met Cool Guy and Crazy. Crazy rambled incoherently and Neighbor looked at her with a confused expression. She later agreed that Crazy is crazy.
So here are my options:
1. Move into Neighbor's tiny room when she leaves
2. Kick out Crazy and get a normal roommate
3. Keep looking for other places in NYC
4. Move back to Aspen
Hmmm...
