Compromising with Crazy
July 20, 2010
I got into another fight with Crazy tonight. This time it was about living room furniture. Seems dumb, right? I totally agree!
I actually managed to avoid contact with her for the majority of the day. I saw her briefly this morning. She hadn't slept because she was still on a coke high and informed me that two of her "friends" were over. I had seen one of them a couple times. But the other guy was new. In any case, I left immediately to dance away my stress with contemporary jazz/modern and ballet.
After three hours of dance, I thought a hot yoga class would be a good way to relax my body. I was wrong, very wrong. I had to leave the room twice to avoid passing out. I barely made it through class and went home exhausted! I just wanted to take a nice cold shower and go to bed. But of course Crazy had to start running her mouth the minute I walked in the door. I just ignored her and took a shower.
After my refreshing rinse, I jumped on my laptop and began looking for living room furniture on-line. I got up to show Cool Guy some couches I found. Well Crazy didn't like my idea of actually furnishing the living room--that is currently occupied only by a coffee table and overflow from Crazy's room. (I suppose she prefers keeping it as her personal storage space.) She seemed completely offended that I would even desire to have seating in the living room. When I told her that I just want a comfortable living space and am used to living in "nice places," she mocked me in a manner that implied that I'm a snob. She's such a child. I told her that she may be comfortable living in a dumpster, but I'm not.
I also mentioned that it would be nice to have somewhere for us and guests to sit. Her response is that we shouldn't have guests over. (This is coming from the woman who has more traffic coming through the apartment than Grand Central Station.)
Fast forward 15 minutes of arguing... We compromised (with Cool Guy mediating), agreeing to get some furnishings but nothing too big. Huh? We compromised? While we definitely but heads, I don't think either one of us wants to move. We're also both alpha bitches and very stubborn. I don't think we'll ever be BFFs! But will we be able to remain cordial for the next couple months? I'm not so sure. But we'll see. Stay tuned folks!
P.S. As I was writing this blog, Crazy came to discuss the furniture situation in a very nice manner. I was actually a little impressed by her efforts... until she followed up by bragging to me about drinking an entire bottle of wine and doing GHB (in addition to the coke) last night. Hopefully, my next blog will be titled, "Crazy Goes to Rehab".
